ING Direct Canada is hosting a Personal Finance Discussion with myself and three other panelists on Wednesday, November 9th, 2011. (So if you are reading this via your email subscription to WDAMMG, that will be tonight.)
I’m really looking forward to discussing topical issues with some of Canada’s finest contributors to personal finance.
The Panel
Rubina Ahmed-Haq is a financial journalist with tremendous experience in all forms of media. A regular contributor to the Steven and Chris Show on CBC, columnist at RateSupermarket.ca, contributor to NEWSTALK 1010 and so much more, Rubina has covered business and finance issues all over the world, having even worked with the BBC and being posted in England and Asia.
Dan Bortolotti should be no stranger to readers of this blog, but perhaps you know him better as the author The Canadian Couch Potato blog which was voted the best investing blog in Canada in 2011 by readers of The Globe & Mail. Dan recently launched a new book, The MoneySense Guide to the Perfect Portfolio. I first heard of Dan when I read an article of his on how he became a couch potato investor a few years ago after writing a story on financial makeovers. Turns out he ended up with a makeover himself. He has since become one of the foremost experts on index investing for retail investors in Canada.
Ellen Roseman definitely needs no introduction. But I will tell you that I consider her to be a Saint. She’s a columnist with The Toronto Star, a fierce consumer advocate, and teaches personal finance workshops when she isn’t defending consumer rights. I owe her a huge debt of gratitude for helping my own parents out a few years ago. You can read about the story in this post aptly titled Ellen Roseman is a Saint.
