Do you use your dog’s name as your password for everything?
You’re not alone. Many people recycle their PINs, passwords, and secret questions for every service they use. It just takes too much effort for many of us to use the recommended security practices. That’s why Karl Martin, founder and CTO of Nymi, Inc. has developed a new way to authenticate users using their heart rhythms.
I met with Karl at his offices in Toronto and we explored the practical applications of such a technology, including how it could be used in the financial services specifically with POS transactions and to enhance online shopping security.
Interesting side note: Karl and I were summer interns at the same company for two years back in our undergraduate days. I knew back then that his brain is on a different level than the rest of us, and I’m really excited to see where Nymi, Inc. goes from here.
