Hi Preet
Just want to say I really enjoy reading your articles in the Globe and Mail. Keep up the excellent job!
P.S. — Count me in to win one of the TurboTax software — sure can use the “Premier edition”. Cheers!
Sweet! I hope I’ll win!
Perfect timing… my family is starting to call… they’re wondering if i’ve bought my tax software yet!
Generally I use Studio Tax ( http://www.studiotax.com )to do my families taxes, but other free software is always welcome, maybe it would be easier to do my spouses professional income with Home and Business.
It would be great to have a real software package and not use the online system anymore. Thanks for the entry.
Thanks Preet! hope I win a copy.
Great! This would be useful.
Great idea Preet!
Nice contest and great timing!
Woo hoo, Free Stuff!
Thanks again
Love the way you present your information (especially the investment and tax stuff). It is clear and simple enough to understand, yet the topics are complicated. Thank you!
Would love to get free tax software this time of year!
Glad to see your back – tax season looms – uggh :-)
I enjoy reading the information that you offer. I tell my Advisor what I want done so must keep up on the World of Finance.
That would be nice to win!
Thanks for the giveway!
This is a great give away, i was just wondering how to do my taxes this year!
Enter me in the draw, thanks.
Would love to win and keep more money in my pocket!
Yay! Free Stuff! And stuff that I need too!
Rule 6. Open to residents of Canada only.
Are there that many non-residents/non-Canadians needing Canadian tax software? :-)
More for me, I guess.
i love to get free stuff – especially if it’s actually useful.. BTW saw you on CBC news yesterday. Good info on RRSP’s
This would be very useful! Count me in.
HI Preet,
Just a mention about Turbo Tax. These tax softwares are getting better and easier each year. If you have a pretty straightforward tax situation that these make it easy and painless. Even if you have a complex tax return and have done it yourself or closely worked with an tax accountant to understand your qualified deductions you should be able to handling it on your own with maybe some of the more advanced tax software versions of Turbo Tax. It may still be wise to work with a tax pro if you still aren’t sure.
The one thing I love about CRA is that if you leave out a deduction or two – THEY AREN’T GOING TO CHASE YOU DOWN FOR IT! :-)
Get what’s yours – Use Turbo Tax!
Woow! Two contests in 3 days :)
Turbo Tax! Just in time for tax season!
I’d like to win the Turbo Tax software. Please and thank you :)
Oh ya!!! Turbo Tax!!
too bad they can’t make taxes go away
I hate doing my taxes. I am hoping the software will make the whole exercise a little more bearable.
I have used Quick Tax for years and think it one of the easiest to use but it is getting to be too expensive for preparing 1-2 tax returns
great contest, great prize
Thanks Preet.
Love the Facebook! But, could use a taxprogram, bigtime
C’mon, Turbo Tax! Fingers crossed!
Count me in!
Thanks Preet!
Would love a copy of the Turbo Tax software.
BTW, like your appearances on the CBC National off & on.
Thanks
I love doing my taxes!
I have an acctng degree but have only worked in industry, and not in Finance or Accounting for the last 16 years. But, several friends and relatives have always expected that my doing their taxes for them is natural, and I’ve never said no. This would be such a help.
Thanks Preet, and Good Luck Everyone.
Turbotax has never let me down. So, count me in for this year’s giveaway!
It’s that time of year again.
What a useful prize!
Thanks for the chance to win!

Love your newsletter. Especially since I am Canadian the info is pertinent. I’ve followed your suggestions and comments fervently. Keep it coming.
Wouldnt it be nice to find out what I am losing out on by doing all my taxes on paper ? Count me in for a lucky entry in the draw.
Thanks!!
Leaving my mark here in hopes of winning :)
Thanks for the great giveaway
Woohoo!
Thanks for another great contest.
Sounds like a great time for a great prize !!
Thanks for the chance to win.
Nice prize! Thanks
Free sounds good to me!
Hi Preet,
I heard your comments, about the RRSP questions, the other night on the news. I really thought this was one of the better panels and all the input was helpful – thank you. I’m still “on the fence” about maxing out my RRSP’s, though, and will give it a little more thought.
Hi Kathy,
I think if you heed Preet’s advice and look at getting a comprehensive financial plan done that with project what your future tax rate might be in retirement and compare it to what your current tax rate is right now, it may bring a fair bit of clarity to the situation.
Now you don’ have time to get a proper financial plan before the rrsp deadline so here is what you can do:
Make the Max contribution before the deadline. Spend the next six weeks (prior to filing your tax return) getting a proper financial plan done and then decide whether to claim the full contribution on this years tax return or defer some or all of it to future tax years. Feel free to reach me through my site http://www.frankwiginton.com if you want more of an explanation or would like to discuss the preparation of a comprehensive financial plan.
Preet what do think???
Still no update on CYA?
Thanks. It’s probably time to try a different tool this time, after using UFile for the last few years.
Sign me up for the draw!
Wouldn’t mind winning this at all. I like to do my taxes by hand to ensure I understand it all, but it’s nice to have a software package that can correct me :)
I’m in for this draw
Need TurboTax. Nothing I like to put turbo on more than my taxes…I guess.
Thanks for the opportunity to win a copy of TurboTax Canada. Regards…
I just discovered this site, and am so glad I found it!
Discussions like this about four copies are a good a way to promote and expand the topic. Nice post. Congratulations again on a good job Preet.
As a newcomer to Canada, this year is my first time tax work/hassle.
That would help ! :)
Thanks for the opportunity
This would be very useful… I hope to win a copy!
