A producer at CBC contacted me last week to see if I would be interested in filling in for Kevin O’Leary on The Lang & O’Leary Exchange. While I’ve been on as a guest for segments three times before, it was a real honour being asked to co-host with Amanda Lang for an entire show. It was lots of fun, and hopefully I’ll be back to try my hand at it again. The staff and crew were phenomenal.
Here’s the link to the video on CBC’s site. As many of you know, CBC’s video player doesn’t work for a lot of people, including myself. However it does work for most. Running time is about an hour.

We discussed various topics, and on one segment known as “off the chart” they find a chart that explains an unusual finding (doesn’t have to be business related) and chat about it for about a minute. In this episode the chart showed the correlation between clemency rates of judges versus when they had eaten. On a full stomach, clemency rates were over 60% but drifted down to ZERO right before meals. Interesting, but scary.
Here’s a shot of the “behind the scenes” from the set:

Congratulations on co-hosting the show! Maybe after a few more of these guest appearances, you’ll be able to launch your very own Banerjee Group of High-Yield Funds. LOL .

Well done ,O’Leary should be worried…if your video player doesn’t work, maybe you should take your PC/mac in for a tune up.

HEARD RECENTLY AVERAGE CANADIAN FAMILY IS $100,000 IN DEBT. IN CANADA WE HAVE STRONG BANKS AND A DEFICIT NOT AS LARGE AS OTHER COUNTRIES. MY WIFE AND I ARE DISABLED BUT RECEIVE BENEFITS FROM RETIRING ON DISABILITY; HER FROM TRANSPORT CANADA AND ME FROM VETERANS AFFAIRS. HOW SECURE ARE WE IF THE DEEP RECESSION LOOMING AHEAD OF US ALL WORLDWIDE COMES ABOUT? I ADDRESS THIS WORRY TO MS. AMANDA LANG

Hi Richard, I’ll point out that Amanda has no involvement on this website whatsoever. If you wan to contact her you’ll have to go through CBC.
Our banking regulations have helped Canada considerably relative to other countries. With pensions from government agencies, you could probably count on being more secure than pretty much everyone else.
