If you are new to WhereDoesAllMyMoneyGo.com you should know that most Fridays I run a post called “A Lap Of The Blogs” in which I link to some articles of interest I’ve read in the past week. I also include a weekly “racing video” because my former life was in the auto racing industry… Enjoy!
While I was in BC last weekend I got to hang out with Squawkfox and her other half who were crazy enough to drive about five hours to Vancouver from their place. She runs a great blog which won the Globe and Mail’s best of the blogs contest in the Personal Finance section. I recommend checking it out.
Two separate book giveaways came to a close and there were a total of 6 books up for grabs. Here are the winners:
Money $mart Mom
From Around The Blogosphere
Episode 2 of the WhereDoesAllMyMoneyGo.com Internet Radio Show was just published and should show up in iTunes shortly (subscribe to the podcast here). Don’t have iTunes? You can listen to it here too.
Thicken My Wallet: Has Apple’s stock peaked?
Jonathan Chevreau: Vanguard is launching 20 new ETFs.
Larry MacDonald: A 1 in 1 chance of becoming a millionaire.
Canadian Capitalist: Modest CPP changes in the works.
Ellen Roseman: Knock, knock – who’s there? Ellen has some advice for when you encounter a door-knocker. You can read my story here, too. And since we’re on a roll, make sure to check out Canadian Capitalist’s take on water heaters here.
Rob Carrick: A new investment beast – the high yield corporation.
Michael James on Money: Spidey (inside joke) rips apart the book “Enough Bull” which recommends only investing in GICs. I agree with everything Tobey (inside joke) says. Here’s the inside joke – Michael James on Money looks exactly like TobeyMaguire.
This Week’s Racing Video
I’m officially climaxing the entertainment value of the weekly video with this one – it’s all downhill after this one. This is brilliant. This is funny. This is the place I want to work. The guys from Top Gear challenge their team to launch a car into the sky (with full on rockets), eject the massive fuel tanks and rockets, and then control the car in for a landing so that it can be re-used. YOU. MUST. WATCH. THIS. VIDEO. Check this out. It’s 10 minutes – but more than worth it – dare I say, the best 10 minutes of your day. Enjoy!
